Platelet rich plasma(PRP) is prepared by centrifuging small quantity blood drawn from the patient. The concentrated platelets is rich in various growth factors that is found to suppress the inflammatory process.
PRP injected to the affected site, which usually is a chronically inflamed tendon or early degenerate joint. PRP is also used to fasten the healing process in ligament reconstructions and fracture fixations.
